Welcome to Smash Cricket for Toddlers!
Discover a world where young children can learn the basics of cricket while developing important life skills such as teamwork, motor coordination, and confidence. Our program, founded by former Proteas cricket player Dwaine Pretorius, offers toddlers a unique opportunity to grow through fun and play. With dedicated and highly qualified coaches, we ensure that each session is safe, educational, and exciting, with small groups to guarantee attention.
Smash Cricket is specially designed for toddlers between the ages of 4 to 6 years. We focus on developing basic cricket skills and motor skills in a playful and safe environment.
Each session lasts 30 minutes. We hold sessions once a week, making it easy to fit into the school's schedule.
Children only need to wear comfortable sportswear. All cricket equipment is provided by us, including balls and bats that are safe for toddler use.
All our coaches are not only experienced coaches but have also undergone specific training to work with young children. They have a passion for child development and have more than 4 years of coaching experience.
There is a joining fee of R500 used for a shirt, certificate, and hat. The monthly fee of R250 covers everything needed for the sessions, including the use of all equipment.
You can enroll your child by visiting our website and filling out the online registration form, or you can contact us directly by phone or email. We will then provide you with all the necessary information to complete the enrollment process.
Yes, we offer a free trial period for two months in April and May 2024. This gives parents and children a chance to experience our program without any financial commitment.
SMASH LEAGUE is a new concept that we want to start.
It will make cricket more EXCITING for all players, especially the YOUNG CHILDREN who are used to Rugby and football ; many of them do not like standing around.
In a match, there are teams of 8 players with six players on the field.
Each player gets a 6-ball over and a chance to bat in a game full of fun.
But there's more!
A "wide ball" or a "no ball" gives us two extra runs and a "free-hit." The coach will softly throw the ball so the player can hit it far.
We make sure there are only two fielders on one side, which gives players more space to score runs (2 on the offside and 2 on the leg side).
If the batter hits the ball, they must run "tip and run," ensuring the other batter gets a chance to bat.
This also gives the fielders a chance for a "runout."
If the match ends in a tie, each team gets one last chance to win with a "super over."
We play fast, with each game only lasting 55 minutes, to pack the most fun into the shortest time.
The team with the most runs wins.
The team that scores the most runs over the season then wins a prize.
Matches every second Saturday at Hennopspark Primary School.
It will be in video format, so it can be easily implemented and is developed by former Proteas cricketer Dwaine Pretorius.
The school doesn't have to do anything; all communication and arrangements are handled by Smash.
If the school wishes, all coaching responsibilities can be given to the parents. It is not necessary to hire any additional coaches.
There will be music, food, and other forms of entertainment for the whole family, making it a fun day out.
From July 8 to September 14, matches will be held every second Saturday.
